Starting and stopping your time

Clock in with one tap on the Home page, stop when you're done, and see where your hours add up.

Employee2 min read

TwoWork is built around one button. Tap it when you start, tap it again when you're done, and your hours are registered.

Start your workday

  1. Open TwoWork. The icon on your home screen is the quickest way - see Install TwoWork on your phone. You land on the Home page.
  2. Tap Start work.

Here's what happens:

While you're working

The green Current session box shows Started at: and a timer that counts up. The timer counts this registration only, from the moment you tapped Start, even though the label says "Time worked today".

In the top-right corner of the card you'll find Add note, if you want to tell your manager what you worked on - see Adding a note to a shift.

Depending on how your company has set up TwoWork, you may also see:

  • Breaks - a row of buttons where you pick the break you took before you stop.
  • Project - pills where you pick the project you worked on - see Tracking time on projects.

You can close the app or lock your phone while you work. The start time is already saved, so nothing is lost. Starting and stopping need an internet connection.

Stop when you're done

  1. If you see Breaks, pick the break you took.
  2. Tap Stop work.
  3. A short confirmation appears at the bottom of the screen, and the card is ready for your next shift.

Your summary

Below the registration card, the Summary card shows Hours today, Hours this week (Monday to Sunday) and Hours this month. It includes the registration that's running right now, and every time type counts - vacation and sick days too.

Good to know

  • You can only have one registration running at a time.
  • Your phone and CheckPoint share the same registration: start on one, stop on the other - see TwoWork CheckPoint.
  • Every registration starts as the time type Normal. You can change it afterwards on the Hours page - see Managing your hours and Registering sick leave.
  • TwoWork doesn't send reminders, so a phone alarm is a good habit. Forgot to stop? See Forgot to stop your time registration?. Forgot to start? Add the hours by hand on the Hours page.
