Adding a note to a shift

Sometimes a time entry needs a bit of extra context - what you worked on, why a shift ran long, or which task took up the day. Notes let you add a short message to any registration, so the hours tell the full story.

How to add a note while you're clocked in

While a registration is running, head to the Home page. In the top-right corner of your active session, you'll see an Add note button with a small pencil icon:

The Add note button in the top-right of the active registration card

Tap it, type a short message, and hit Save. The button changes to Edit note once a note is attached, so you can pop back in and update it any time before you stop the shift.

Adding or editing a note later

Already clocked out? You can still add or change a note from the Hours page:

  1. Find the entry you want to update
  2. Tap it to expand the details
  3. Type your note in the note field
  4. Tap Save

The same field appears when you add hours manually with Add Hours.

How long can a note be?

Notes are short by design - up to 120 characters. That's enough for a sentence or two, but not a novel. If you need to explain something bigger, a quick chat with your manager is usually faster.

Who can see your notes?

Your manager can see notes on your time entries when they review hours or run reports. Notes are part of the registration, so treat them like a short message to your manager - clear, factual, and to the point.
